Artist statement

I like the challenge of painting a bright light in a dark environment or drawing all the textures on a tree. I choose my subject matter by focusing on content that is a respite from this world. A cup of tea. A statue in a garden. A type of flower I had never seen before. In a world of terrifying news content, endless scrolling, and battling mental health disorders with my friends, my work is a simple way for me to remind myself that good things win. It is a reminder that sometimes it is enough to leave your mark on the world by pulling things out of your head and into existence.
